INTRODUCTION

If you're like me (and who isn't), you probably like to add excitement to your
life by varying the color schemes set in your Windows 3.1 control panel.  What
the heck -- since you paid big bucks for that Ultra-Super-Deluxe,
Maxi-Resolution, Hi-Fidelity video board and monitor -- why not take full 
advantage of it!

Window Dressing allows you to do just that -- quickly and painlessly!  Each 
day when you start your computer, Windows will start in a randomly selected 
color scheme.  It may be "The Blues" one day and "Arizona" then next.  Wow!

This may sound like Windows Utopia, but there is a catch -- this is a 
shareware program!  What this means to you is that Window Dressing 
version 1.1s doesn't have a complete set of features.  Hold on -- don't 
delete this program just yet -- let me explain.

You see, I have a sneaky suspicion that some people might sometimes take 
advantage of shareware authors who freely give out complete and fully blown 
versions of their software.  They do this by not registering their software.  
Therefor -- you may use this program completely guilt free. However, 
although it is not badly crippled -- it might not be as flexible as a person 
may like.

Simply put, about 50% of the time, this program will randomly select from all 
available color schemes.  The complete version that I would like you to send 
away for will, each time it is run, choose between an unlimited group of your 
own favorite color schemes.  (OK -- in actuality the program is limited to 
999.  but that's ALMOST unlimited).  Also, this version requires a press of a
special "Redecorate" button each day -- the complete version does away with
this minor annoyance.

So set up this program and try it out.  If the 50% operation, the lack of 
preferred schemes and the annoying "Redecorate" button satisfies you -- feel 
free to use it regularly and without guilt.  All that I ask is that you 
pass it amongst your friends.  However, If you would like to be a little 
more daring that the average bear -- simply follow the directions below...

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.	PUT THESE PROGRAM FILES IN THEIR OWN DIRECTORY.  The Window 
	Dressing program file can be in any directory of your hard 
	drive.  If these program files are not where you wish them 
	to be, use the Windows File Manager to move them into their 
	own directory.  Make a mental note as to the directory that 
	they are located as you will need to know this later.

2.	INSTALL THE WINDOW DRESSING ICON IN YOUR STARTUP
	PROGRAM GROUP.  If you are unfamiliar with any of the following
	steps, refer to your Windows Program Manual.

	From the Windows Program Manager, select the Program Group named 
	'Startup', so that it is highlighted.

	Then select the 'File' menu from the Windows Program Manager.

	From the 'File' menu, select 'New...'.

	From the new window that appears, select 'Program Item' and then 'OK'.

	A new window will appear.  Select 'Browse'.

	From this new window, use the standard Windows file finding methods 
	to locate the DW.EXE file.  Once that has been selected, select 
	'OK' until you return to the Windows Program Manager.

3.	YOU ARE FINISHED THE INSTALLATION AND ARE READY TO GO! Each time you
	re-start Windows, the Window Dressing program will be run.




FINAL NOTES

Remember -- this program is designed to only work 50% of the time.
